This is a tough axe with great balance. The white oak handle is strong and comfortable. The 4-1/2″ High Carbon steel blade has a “bearded” shape, which brings the center of gravity closer to your hand. The fully forged Japanese milled HighCarbon steel gives the super-sharp edge great strength. It will be particularly good for splitting kindling. Overall length: 13″. This unusual design is based on an axe from the Kofun period in the 3rd Century. It’s made for us by blacksmiths in the Niigata prefecture.
